Melissa Hudson, DVM

Dr. Melissa attended North Carolina State University, where she earned her B.S. in Poultry Science in 1989.  She attended the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine and received her DVM in 1993. Additionally, Dr. Melissa is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, meaning she has undergone a certification process by demonstrating high standards of quality in the practice of veterinary medicine.  In 2005, she took over as Practice Owner of Northwoods Animal Hospital when Dr. Dan Hudson, her father, retired.  Dr. Melissa lives in Cary with her Labradors, Birken & Posey and her Golden Retriever Erza.

Howard K. Chappell, DVM

In 2010, Dr. Chappell joined Northwoods Animal Hospital as an associate veterinarian.  He attended North Carolina State University, earning a B.S. in Animal Science in 1991 and a DVM degree in 1995. Dr. Chappell practiced in Rocky Mount for 5 years , and then in Lewes, Delaware for 9 years prior to returning to North Carolina. An avid gardener, Dr. Chappell lives in Raleigh with his wife, Kim, and their two children. They have a Labrador, George and 2 kitties, Idgie & Ruth.

Kristin DeAngelo, DVM

Dr. DeAngelo was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. After graduating from NC State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003, she moved to Columbus, Ohio and worked at a veterinary practice for 3 years while her husband Sam completed his dental residency in Columbus. They moved back to this area in July of 2006 and Dr. DeAngelo started as an associate at Wellington Animal Hospital in Cary. Wellington Animal Hospital was sold in September 2015 and she worked for one year with the new ownership and decided to make a change. She joined our team of amazing doctors in August 2016. She has two wonderful sons Brady and Bennett. She also has a guinea pig named Butterfinger, and a rabbit named Cinna-bun.
