Northwoods Animal Hospital maintains a selection of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, heartworm preventatives, and flea/tick control products to support your pet’s health. If a medication is not available in-house, or if you prefer, our doctors can provide a written prescription for you to fill at the outside pharmacy of your choice. Please note that, per hospital policy, we are unable to authorize prescriptions through outside pharmacies.

Heartworm Prevention

How do we prevent heartworms? Heartworm prevention is available as a monthly oral chew, tablet, or topical treatment. Year-round protection is essential for your pet’s health. Even indoor pets should be on prevention because a single mosquito bite can cause infection. Below is a list of products that we carry in-house that you can confidently use for your pet.
